Safety Centre
Sukon is a place of worship, learning and giving. Here is how we keep it safe — and how you can help.
Report a concern
Every report is read by a person on our team. Use the option that fits:
- A dua on the Dua Wall — tap Report under the dua. A dua is hidden automatically after three reports while we review it.
- An answer from Sukon AI — tap Report this answer under it, or use this form. Religious errors are corrected the same day; see our Corrections log.
- A masjid, NGO, vendor or scholar listing — email report@sukon.in with the link.
- A service, booking or donation — use the Grievance form.
- Impersonation, or private or intimate images of you — use the Grievance form. We act within 24 hours.
- Copyright or trademark — see our Copyright and Trademark Policy.
- A security weakness in Sukon — email security@sukon.in (see Security).
Children’s safety
Sukon accounts are for adults (18+) or for younger people with a parent’s consent. We do not allow any content that sexualises, grooms or endangers a child. Such content is removed immediately and reported to the authorities as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 requires.
- If a child is in danger now, call 112, or the child helpline 1098.
- Report online child sexual abuse material to the government at cybercrime.gov.in, and to us at report@sukon.in with “Child safety” in the subject. Do not download, copy or forward the material.
- Parents can read our guide For parents.
Scams and fake fundraisers
Scammers sometimes use the names of masjids, scholars and charities. Remember:
- Sukon will never ask for your sign-in code, bank PIN, UPI PIN or card number by phone, WhatsApp or email. Your sign-in code is for you only.
- Sukon does not take donations on WhatsApp or into personal bank accounts. Every pledge goes to a verified partner’s registered organisation account — check the Transparency page for the current partner list.
- Our official contact numbers and email addresses are on the Contact page. Our only websites are www.sukon.in and the older sukonapp.in, which forwards to it.
- If you lost money to an online fraud in India, call the National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 straight away and report it at cybercrime.gov.in.
Keep your account safe
- Sukon signs you in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google. Keep your email account secure with a strong password and two-step verification.
- A code stops working after 10 minutes and after five wrong tries.
- Download the Android app only from our Install page (and from Google Play once it is listed). Check the file is genuine using the fingerprint shown there.
- To close your account, see Delete your account.
Our rules and how we enforce them
Our Community Guidelines say what is not allowed — including hate, sectarian attacks and takfir, harassment, misinformation presented as a religious ruling, fraud and unauthorised fundraising. We may remove content, restrict features or close accounts that break them. You can appeal any decision through the Grievance process, and then to the Grievance Appellate Committee under the IT Rules, 2021.
If you need urgent help
Sukon is not an emergency service. In India: emergency 112 · women’s helpline 181 · child helpline 1098 · cyber fraud 1930 · mental-health support Tele-MANAS 14416 (free, 24 hours). Outside India, call your local emergency number.
