Your Nikah plan, step by step
3 to 6 months before
Make istikhara and talk openly with both families. Agree on the mahr, the date and the size of the Nikah and walima. Book pre-Nikah counselling if you would like guidance as a couple.
1 to 2 months before
Book the Imam or Qazi and the venue. Choose two adult Muslim witnesses (as your school of thought requires) and confirm the wali for the bride. Prepare the Nikahnama details and any conditions you both agree.
2 weeks before
Collect documents: ID and age proof for both, address proof, passport photos and witness IDs. If you will register the marriage, check your state’s form and fees.
Nikah day
Khutbah, offer and acceptance (ijab and qabul) in front of witnesses, mahr stated, Nikahnama signed, and dua for the couple. Keep it simple and joyful.
After the Nikah
Hold a modest walima. Register the marriage and keep the certificate safe — it is needed for passports, visas, property and bank records.

Questions couples ask
Can Sukon arrange the whole Nikah?
Yes. Sukon can arrange the Imam or Qazi, counselling, Nikahnama guidance, registration help and the walima — book them together or one at a time.
How much does it cost?
Our team confirms the price for your city in writing, in INR, before you pay anything. Counselling with a scholar on general questions is free.
Do you help outside India?
Islamic guidance and counselling are available online anywhere. Imam bookings and registration help are currently arranged in Indian cities.
Which school of thought do you follow?
You choose. Our Imams follow the main schools, and we note differences — for example on the wali and witnesses — so your Nikah follows your own school.
Scholar review. This guide is general guidance, written to be accepted by the major schools, with differences noted where they matter. It is being reviewed by Sukon’s Scholar panel. For a question about your own situation, ask a verified scholar — always free.
