Each feature shows one status: Live (you can use it fully today), Beta (live, still being improved), Request-only (our team arranges it), Coming soon or Unavailable. “Last checked” is the date our team last tested it on the live website.

Partner verification
Before a partner is marked verified we check its legal registration, authorised signatories, bank-account ownership, tax status (12A, 80G, FCRA), governance and evidence of its programmes. Statuses:
- Application received — the organisation has applied.
- Documents pending — we are waiting for registration, signatory, bank-account and tax documents.
- Under review — our team is checking the documents and the organisation’s work.
- Verified — every check is complete and an admin has approved it. Only verified partners can receive donations arranged through Sukon.
- Suspended — paused while a concern is checked. No donations are arranged.

Shariah governance
Status: being formed. The Shariah Advisory Board’s members, their qualifications, the schools of thought they cover, what they review, any conflicts of interest and the date of each review will be published here before online giving opens.
Until then: every verse and hadith on Sukon carries its reference (surah and ayah, or collection and number) so you can check it; Sukon presents the main schools of thought where they differ — for example Hanafi and Shafi’i Asr — rather than one as universal; Sukon does not issue fatwas; and personal rulings go to a qualified scholar. Errors we fix are listed in our corrections log.
AI governance
- Model: Amazon Nova Pro through Amazon Bedrock, run by AWS in India and the Asia-Pacific region.
- Status: beta. It is told to answer from the Quran and authentic hadith and to give the reference for every quote. It can still make mistakes, including wrong references — always check them.
- Not a fatwa: questions on divorce, inheritance shares, finance, health and urgent family matters are pointed to a qualified scholar.
- Your data: questions are not saved in our database, not linked to your account and not used to train AI. See Privacy, section 8A.
- Errors: tap Report this answer. Reported answers are reviewed by our team, and material errors are listed in the corrections log.
- Limits: a fair daily limit per user keeps it fast for everyone.
Where your data lives
- Website, accounts, requests and Dua Wall: Sukon’s secure cloud (AWS), Mumbai region (India).
- Sukon AI: Amazon Bedrock in India and the Asia-Pacific region, so a question you type may be processed in another Asia-Pacific data centre. Do not type personal details into the AI.
- Quran text and audio are loaded from licensed providers listed on our licences page.
- We do not sell personal data and we do not use an advertising ID.
- Every type of data, its service provider and how long we keep it: data map.
Zakat and donations
Zakat and Sadaqah are never Sukon revenue. Each cause will be tagged “Zakat-eligible” or “Sadaqah only”, reviewed by the Shariah Advisory Board once it is in place, and the two are recorded separately and never mixed. We will publish the names of our verified giving partners and a sample disbursement report before online giving opens.
What we have not done yet
We have not yet had an independent penetration test, run a recorded backup-restore exercise or opened a public status page. Each is planned; when it is done we will publish its date, scope and result on our Security page.
Our reports
From January 2027 we will publish a short report every quarter: grievances received and resolved, corrections, content removed, government requests, service requests completed and refunded, and donations passed to partners. Write to grievance@sukonapp.in with any question.
