- Use the Zakat calculator in your local currency — it also shows the Indian rupee equivalent.
- Send a pledge. A pledge is a promise, not a payment: we arrange your gift only with a verified partner and tell you before anything is paid.
- Indian citizens living abroad: according to the Ministry of Home Affairs, a gift from your own savings sent through normal banking channels is not a “foreign contribution” under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010.
- Foreign passport holders, including OCI card holders: your gift is a foreign contribution, so we only pass it to a partner registered under that Act to receive it.
- Gifts to India are usually not tax-deductible in the country where you live. Check your local rules.
“And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.”
The Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:115 (Saheeh International translation)

NRIs ask us
Can I use Sukon if I live outside India?
Yes. Prayer times for any city in the world, the Qibla finder, the full Quran, duas, the Hijri calendar, Ask Sukon AI and the Zakat calculator all work from any country, free and without an account.
Which currency will I see?
Sukon picks your country from your device’s time zone and language and shows amounts in your local currency. You can change the country or currency at any time; the choice stays on your device.
Can I book a Nikah, Aqiqah or Qurbani for my family in India while I am abroad?
Yes. Send a request with your family’s city in India and choose your country and currency. Our team confirms the verified provider, the date and the full price in INR, with the equivalent in your currency, and you pay only after you agree.
Do you charge in my local currency?
Prices are agreed in Indian rupees (INR) because the service is delivered in India. We show the equivalent in your currency so you know what you will pay; your bank or money-transfer service converts at its own rate on the day.
Can I give Zakat or Sadaqah from abroad?
You can calculate your Zakat in your local currency and send a pledge. A pledge is a promise, not a payment: our team arranges your gift only with a verified partner and tells you before anything is paid. If you hold a foreign passport (including an OCI card), Indian law limits who can receive your gift, and we only pass it to a partner registered to accept it.
How do prayer times work in the Gulf, the UK or North America?
Sukon uses the calculation method most used in the country you choose — for example Umm al-Qura in Saudi Arabia, the UAE method in the Emirates, ISNA in North America and Muslim World League in the UK — and you can change it.
