Who, how, how much, how fast
| Who performs it | A verified Imam or Qazi from your city or a nearby city, chosen with you. Where your state licenses Muslim marriage registrars (Kazis), we arrange a licensed registrar when you also want the marriage registered on the same day. |
|---|---|
| Qualifications we check | Identity check (KYC) with government photo ID and address proof; proof of their role or training (an Imamat letter from a mosque committee, a madrasa certificate such as Alim or Fazil, or equivalent); a reference from a mosque, madrasa or community body; an interview with our team; and agreement to our Code of Conduct. Verification is repeated every year and after any complaint. |
| Legal age and consent | Both bride and groom must be of legal age under Indian law (21 for the groom, 18 for the bride) and must give free consent. We do not arrange a Nikah where either condition is not met. |
| Price | There is no fixed online price yet. After your request you receive the Imam’s or Qazi’s fee, travel and any registration charges in writing, in Indian rupees, before anything is booked. No payment ever goes to a personal account. |
| Response time | Our team replies within 2 working days with the verified Imam or Qazi, the date and the full price. Tell us if your date is close and we will prioritise it. |
| Privacy | We collect only what the service needs. Your details are shared only with the verified person who performs it, are never used for advertising, are stored in India and are deleted on request (see Privacy Policy). Proof photos or video are taken only with your consent. |
How legal registration of a Nikah works
A Nikah performed according to Islamic law is a valid marriage for Muslims in India. Registering it gives you an official marriage certificate, which you need for passports, visas, property, bank and insurance matters. Most states now require marriages to be registered. The usual steps are:
- Perform the Nikah and sign the Nikahnama (bride, groom, wali where applicable, two witnesses and the Imam or Qazi).
- Collect documents: age proof and photo ID of bride and groom, address proof, passport-size photos, the Nikahnama, and the IDs of the witnesses.
- Apply to the marriage registrar named under your state’s law, within the time limit the law sets, and attend with the witnesses if asked.
- Collect the marriage certificate.
