Marketplace Policies
How we decide what can be sold on Sukon, what our badges mean, and how you are protected when you buy.
The Sukon Halal Marketplace is run by INDO CHATS PRIVATE LIMITED (168, G.T. Road, near Aloka Cinema, Shibpur, Howrah, West Bengal 711102, India). Products are sold by independent, verified sellers; Sukon checks sellers and listings, collects the payment and handles complaints. These policies apply to every buyer and seller, together with our Terms, Seller Terms, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy.
Allah says: “Give full measure and weight in justice” (Quran 6:152), and the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever cheats is not of us” (Sahih Muslim 102). Honest trade is the heart of these rules.
1. Halal policy and what our badges mean
- “Halal certificate checked” — shown on food and personal-care products only after our team has checked the certificate itself: who issued it, the exact product it covers and that it is still valid. We do not assume a product is halal from its name, its seller or its country.
- Listed on Sukon — a product without the badge has been checked against our rules (no alcohol, no pork, nothing prohibited below), but it is not a certified product. Books, prayer mats, clothing and similar goods do not need a halal certificate.
- Attar and fragrances must be alcohol-free; the seller confirms this for every listing and we may test or ask for the formula.
- Islamic texts must be complete, accurate and printed with respect. Report any Quran copy with a missing or wrongly printed page and we will remove it and refund you.
- Our religious wording is reviewed with qualified scholars. If you have a concern about a halal claim, write to grievance@sukon.in — we will look into it within 48 hours and remove the badge or the listing while we check.
2. Products not allowed
These cannot be sold on Sukon, with examples:
- Alcohol and intoxicants — wine, beer, spirits, perfumes or sprays that contain alcohol (ethanol, “alcohol denat.”), vapes, tobacco, cannabis or any drug
- Pork and non-halal animal products — pork, lard, non-halal gelatine, pig-bristle brushes, carmine or other animal ingredients without a valid halal certificate
- Meat, poultry and fresh food — Qurbani and Aqiqah are arranged through Sukon Services, not the marketplace
- Medicines and cure claims — medicines, supplements, ‘Prophetic medicine’ sold with claims to cure illness, and amulets, taweez or charms sold as protection or cures
- Gambling — lottery tickets, betting items, gambling games
- Fakes and dishonest listings — counterfeit, replica or ‘first copy’ goods, pirated books, forged or borrowed halal certificates, misleading origin claims and fake reviews
- Unsafe or regulated goods — weapons, knives sold as weapons, explosives, dangerous chemicals, spy and surveillance tools, and electronics or toys without the BIS marking the law requires
- Disrespectful or immodest items — anything that mocks any religion or its sacred texts, adult or immodest material, and Quran copies with missing or wrongly printed pages
- Restricted religious items — Zamzam water and other items whose sale is restricted by law, and items sacred to other faiths sold in a way that offends their followers
Sellers who break these rules have the listing removed and may be suspended. A seller can appeal by writing to partners@sukon.in within 15 days with documents; a different team member reviews the appeal.
3. What you can buy
We are opening one category at a time so every listing can be checked properly. Open now: Quran & Islamic books, Prayer essentials, Attar & fragrances, Modest fashion, Islamic gifts & Ramadan collections, Islamic home décor. Dates and halal food, halal personal care, kids and Islamic learning, Hajj and Umrah travel and electronics are open to sellers who pass an enhanced review (halal certificate, FSSAI licence, BIS registration or brand authorisation).
4. Buyer protection
- Every seller is a verified business. Their name, address, customer-care phone, GSTIN and return policy are shown on every product, as the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require.
- You pay on delivery, so you pay only when the parcel reaches you. Sukon collects the payment and pays the seller after delivery.
- If a product is damaged, defective, fake, not as described or not delivered, write to grievance@sukon.in with your order reference and photos. We acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within one month. Where the seller does not put it right, Sukon will refund you.
- Use “Report this listing” on any product to tell us about a fake, unsafe or prohibited item or a misleading halal claim. Safety and fake-product reports are handled first.
5. Shipping and delivery
- Each seller ships their own products. If your basket has products from several sellers, they arrive as separate parcels and you pay each one on delivery.
- Each product shows its delivery charge (or free delivery) and how many business days the seller takes to dispatch. We email you the courier and tracking number when your parcel ships.
- Products marked “International delivery” can be sent outside India. Prices do not include import duties or taxes in your country: these are payable by you on delivery (DAP). Check your country’s rules for religious books, food and fragrances before ordering.
6. Returns and refunds
- Each seller’s return policy is shown on their products. Whatever it says, you can always return a product that is damaged, defective, fake, not as described, or delivered later than promised.
- Opened food, opened attar and personal-care items, and clothing altered or made to your measurements cannot be returned unless they are faulty, for hygiene and safety.
- Refunds are made to your bank account or UPI within 7 working days of the return being received. See our Refund Policy.
7. How products are ordered
Products are shown newest first, filtered by the category, search words and delivery options you choose. Sellers cannot pay for a higher place, and Sukon does not boost its own products. If we ever add sponsored placements, they will be clearly labelled “Sponsored”, and we will explain the main ranking factors on this page first.
