Code of Conduct
How everyone at Sukon — staff, scholars, partners and contractors — is expected to act.
Sukon serves people at their most personal moments: prayer, grief, marriage, giving. Our conduct must match that trust. This Code applies to every employee, intern, scholar, Imam, volunteer, contractor and partner who works for or with Sukon. Suppliers also follow our Vendor Terms.
Honesty and fair business
- Act honestly in every deal; never mislead a user, donor, partner or authority
- Zero tolerance for bribery and kickbacks, in line with the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988
- Keep accurate books and records; never hide or alter a transaction
- Compete fairly; never take or use another company’s confidential information
Money given for the sake of Allah
- Zakat, Sadaqah and service payments are trust money — never mix them with Sukon’s own funds
- Every cause is tagged Zakat-eligible or Sadaqah only by the Shariah panel, and that tag is never changed for convenience
- Never promise a religious outcome, blessing or result in return for money
- Proof of service (receipt, photo or video) is shared only with consent
Conflicts of interest
- Tell your manager if a family member or friend is a supplier, partner or job candidate
- Do not take a second job or business that competes with Sukon or uses its time or data
- Decisions on partners and scholars are made on merit, not relationships
Gifts and hospitality
- Small, occasional gifts worth up to ₹2,000 may be accepted and must be recorded
- Never accept cash, vouchers, loans or anything given to influence a decision
- Never offer gifts to public officials to win a licence, approval or contract
Respect at work
- No discrimination by religion, sect, caste, gender, disability, age, region or language
- Zero tolerance for sexual harassment; complaints go to our Internal Committee under the POSH Act, 2013
- Fair wages paid on time, legal working hours and paid leave as required by Indian labour codes
- No child labour and no forced or bonded labour, anywhere in our supply chain
- A safe and healthy workplace for staff and field teams
Protecting users and children
- Use personal data only for the job you are doing, following the DPDP Act, 2023
- Never contact a user privately for personal reasons or ask them for money
- Report any concern about a child’s safety at once; we follow the POCSO Act, 2012
- Scholars give guidance in their own name and do not issue rulings on behalf of Sukon
Company assets and confidential information
- Use Sukon devices, accounts and code only for Sukon work
- Keep passwords private; never share sign-in codes
- Do not share unpublished plans, finances or user data outside the company
- Work you create for Sukon belongs to INDO CHATS PRIVATE LIMITED
Speaking for Sukon
- Only authorised people speak to media or post on Sukon’s official accounts
- Do not post religious opinions as Sukon’s position
- Never speak disrespectfully about any faith, sect or community
Care for the earth
We avoid waste, prefer digital receipts, and ask suppliers to follow environmental laws. Caring for the earth is part of our trust as Muslims.
Reporting a concern
If you see something wrong, report it to legal@sukon.in or, in confidence, to report@sukon.in. We investigate every report and protect anyone who reports in good faith from retaliation. Breaking this Code can lead to warning, removal from Sukon work or termination, and serious cases are reported to the authorities.
