How to choose a trusted service for Badal Umrah, Qurbani and Aqiqah
By Team Sukon
More families now ask someone else to perform a service on their behalf — Badal Umrah for a parent who cannot travel, or Qurbani and Aqiqah in another city. It is an amanah, so it is worth asking the right questions before you pay.
Five questions to ask
- Who exactly will perform it? Ask for the name of the person and how they were verified. For Badal Umrah, the performer should already have completed their own Umrah.
- What proof will I receive? A reliable service gives a video, photos or a receipt, ideally mentioning your name or the name of the person it is performed for.
- Is the price clear? You should know the full price, what it includes, and any cost that cannot be refunded, before you pay.
- Where does the money go? Pay only to a registered business or organisation account — never to a personal account or a UPI ID passed around on social media.
- What happens if it is not done? Ask about the refund policy in writing.
For Qurbani and Aqiqah
Ask where the animal is sourced, that it meets the required age and condition, that it is slaughtered by a Muslim according to Islamic requirements and local law, and how the meat will be distributed.
